Rooms let you design complete data‑center layouts by dropping racks, objects, and text onto a free‑form canvas. Think of a room map as the “floor plan” that ties your individual racks together.
Create a Room
From the Dashboard, click + New Room
A blank workspace opens and shows “Room is empty.”
The drag‑and‑drop canvas appears only after you place the very first item (rack, object, or text).

Context menu (right‑click)
Option | Action |

Duplicate | Drops a copy offset from the original. |
Mirror | Flip horizontally. |
Copy Style / Paste Style | Copy only scale & rotation, not labels. |

Using the Grid
Grid Size | Behaviour |
---|---|
50 px (default) | Standard rack‑spacing snap. |
Smaller | Finer positioning; more grid lines. |
0 | Turns snapping off for pixel‑perfect placement. |
Room Viewer
The viewer shares the same canvas but reorganizes the tabs:
Tab | Purpose |
---|---|
Room | Read‑only fields (name, notes, size…). |
Rack | Displays the rack viewer; selecting a rack flips to this tab automatically. |
Details | Shows properties of the selected rack, door, or text. |
Tools | Export options only. |
Quick Tips
Use tags to group rooms by building, floor, or purpose—search and filter work just like they do for racks.
Label size vs. zoom – Increase Label Size if you’re working on a large monitor or expect to export high‑res PDFs.
Mirror doors to flip hinge sides without re‑placing them.
That’s all you need to start mapping your facility. Drop in your racks, mark doors for walkways, add notes, and share or export the finished plan—all with Rack Manage’s drag‑and‑drop ease.
